Strasbourg - Lux, 5-1
The U11 Huskies traveled to Strasbourg on Sunday. After a slow start, being outshot 12-2, the Huskies were able to get on the board first when Richard D'Andrea found the back of the net. Strasbourg was able to capitalize on a turnover in the Huskies' zone a few minutes later to tie the game 1-1, which is how the first period ended. In the second, Strasbourg was able to score two goals: one on a good feed from behind the goal line to a player at the top of the crease and another on a breakaway with 3.6 seconds left in the period. Strasbourg again scored two goals again in the third to make the final score 5-1.
Despite the score, the Huskies had a some good chances to score, but many missed the net. The team worked hard at points during the game and had chances to add to their score. The team continues to work on capitalizing on opportunities and working together as a team in every zone. Connor Broderick was solid in net, finishing with 38 saves. Mathys Sana made his Huskies debut in the match. The U11s travel to Besancon next weekend for another league match.
